Technical Specs

QUICKDRY

Made from 100% Polyester, the yarn is coated with the Quickdry solution and heat sealed onto it. The yarn is then knitted into fabric. Being yarn coated, means the garment will remove moisture from the skin and move it to the surface of the fabric where it will evaporate. Making the garment cool and dry to wear.

COTTON

Made from combed Cotton to give a smooth surface, Cotton is globally the most preferred fibre to wear for its comfort.

COTTON MODAL

A blended yarn of Cotton and Modal. Modal comes from Beech trees, so is a natural (cellulose) fibre. Modal is classed as a ‘cool ‘ yarn, which makes a garment drape well and not cling to the body.

POLY/COTTON

A blended yarn of Polyester and Cotton (normally 60 - 65% Polyester & 30 - 35% Cotton). Poly / Cotton is a hardy and durable yarn, and good for being relatively wrinkle free and easy care.

DINTEX

Our brand of fabric that is Microporous – which means it is fabric that is 3 layers which are bonded together. This creates a windproof and showerproof garment, providing excellent warmth and comfort whilst remaining lightweight.

COTTON ELASTINE

A blended yarn of Cotton and the elastomeric fibre (generically called Elastane). The most common blend of this yarn is in the 95% Cotton / 5% Elastane. Elastane helps to retain the shape of a garment, and provides extra comfort by being more stretchy than fabrics without Elastane.

SHOWERPROOF

Fabrics that are treated with a coating on the inside of the fabric to reduce water penetrating through it. Showerproof allows the wearer to be in light rain for 10-20 mins before water will penetrate through.

MERINO

The hardiest of wool fibre to use in clothing, Merino makes beautiful garments that last a long time. New technology allows this fabric to be machine washed (on a wool cycle with wool detergent). Merino fabric breathes, so the ultimate comfort in a garment.

RIPSTOP FABRIC

A strong fabric that is made by adding thicker yarns in the warp and weft at regular intervals to make the appearance of small squares/rectangles. The thicker yarn helps to prevent the fabric from ripping. Heavy Ripstop is commonly used in yacht sails. Finer Ripstop used in outdoor clothing and workwear.

ANTI-PILL:

ANTI PILL FINISH

This is a heat treated liquid coating applied to (normally) 100% polyester yarn, to help prevent the fibres pilling (forming small balls on the surface of the garment). Always buy Anti-Pill polarfleece.

ANTI PILL YARN

A specially formulated new yarn technology developed by C-Force Textiles.

ANTI-STATIC

This is another liquid coating applied to Polyester yarn, to help stop the conduct of electricity when worn and in contact with other synthetic garments or surfaces.

REFLECTIVE

Using reflective tape in garments gives extra safety when wearing in dull light/darkness, as the wearer is visible.

UV20-40+

This coating helps to block UV rays from penetrating the fabric. The bigger the number, the more the protection level (in line with sunblock ratings in Australia & NZ). Some fabrics (like heavy weight Nylon Elastane) have an in-built UV protection simply from the construction of the fabric. Used in outdoor clothing and workwear.

COTTON/POLY

A blended yarn of Cotton and Polyester (normally 60 - 80% Cotton & 20 – 40% Polyester). This yarn is good for people who like to wear Cotton – the added Polyester helps to give the Cotton strength.

WINDPROOF

Fabrics that are treated with a coating on the inside of the fabric to be resistant to wind to provide warmth and comfort.

WATERPROOF

Using a laminated TPN membrane technology allows this fabric to be fully waterproof and breathable, for the ultimate comfort in wet weather.
